| Downshire Camping
and Caravans are a family run business founded
by Thomas Preston in the early 1900's as
a small grocery outlet. The business was
grown by Thomas Preston Snr into a thriving
retail grocery business with 4 retail outlets.
Thomas Prestons own love of camping and
caravanning as a leisure activity prompted
in the late 50's to start up Downshire
Camping supplying tents and camping equipment.

Forest Park, Andrew is on the left of
his mum and Michael is on his mum's knee.
In 1958 the company
was incorporated and with continued growth
added caravans to its product list. The
company is now managed by Thomas Prestons
two sons Andrew and Michael.
